Utrecht GALLERY!

 Galery window
We wanted to show your art!

Denis Fitzpatrick came up with a great idea, make our Pike street  facing window a place to show art.

So come in and drop off a bio, images and a show resume, or you can leave a comment on the blog with your website link. The images must be indicative of what you want to show, please, do not bring in the actual works. Due to the nature of the space we are looking for 4 to 7, works  24″x24″ or larger, ready to hang.  Shows are bi-monthly.

Come on by to find out more, ask for Denis or Chris.

Shawn Beesley
Shawn’s art is currently hanging in the Utrecht window. His paintings depict everyday life from a minds eye. Each work is another potentially epic day of life. Shawn makes paper cut outs, glues them to canvas and then paints with acylics. This method gives a low relief 3d realism to the work.

All you have to to is walk by to see the work! YEAH STREET ART!

PressworksPrintmakingCooperative

Pressworks Printmaking Cooperative
Sunny Arms Building

707 South Snoqualmie Street, Suite 1A
Seattle, WA 98108
206-621-1252

Pressworks Co-op, established in 1984, is a group of printmakers who share space, equipment, and camaraderie. We are a diverse group of artists working in various forms of printmaking such as intaglio, relief, monoprint, lithography, collagraph, solarplate, and various other experimental forms of printmaking. We have three presses: a manual Laguna etching press with a 26″ x 48″ bed, an electric Laguna etching press with a

3′ x 6′ bed, and a litho press. We offer storage space for each artist, including flat files for paper and prints. We have plenty of table space for working, a paper soaking tray, drying rack and a separate ventilated acid etching room. Studio time is not limited; access is 24 hours a day.

The studio is on the ground floor of an industrial building converted to an artist living and working cooperative, located just south of Spokane Street, accessible by Fourth Avenue South (via South Industrial Way) or Airport Way South. The studio receives great natural light during the day, has heating and is well ventilated, and there is ample parking around the building. We are near Daniel Smith and several bus lines including routes 39, 130, 136, 137, and 174.

New members will be expected to work with another member for a brief period of time to acclimate themselves to the studio and procedures. There is a non-refundable deposit of $275.00, which includes the first month’s rent of $125.00 and the $50 annual maintenance fee due each January. The remaining $100, a non-refundable deposit, may be paid in two installments. Presswork’s members must participate in open houses (unless the open house occurs within the first four months of membership) and attend four monthly meetings per year. Potential members’ portfolios will be reviewed by the current members. Our concern is not for artistic content, but to demonstrate knowledge and experience in printmaking.

Call to make an appointment to show your portfolio at our next meeting.

To apply as a member, you must:

  1. Have a background in printmaking,
  2. Show a portfolio of your prints,
  3. Exhibit knowledge of printmaking,
  4. Be willing to commit for at least one year and preferably more.
