Paul Mckercher will be doing a demo showcasing various techniques using resin to add a new layer to your artwork. This demo will help explain how to build layers in painting and illustrations. Techniques can be applied to almost any medium. If you want your artwork to have more depth or just want to coat a countertop, then this demo is for you. Practical to outlandish, working with resin can breathe new life into your work! This demo will be done outside. If it is raining, this demo will need to postponed. Utrecht Oil painting demo with Resident Artist Joe Gyurcsak “Best Professional Practices Dynamic Still Lifes”
Mr. Gyurcsak has led classes and workshops at the School of Visual Arts in NY, Pratt Institute, Parsons, RISDY, NYU and numerous schools and arts organizations throughout the country. Join him on April 27th for an in-depth still life painting demo & Lecture. Mr. Gyurcsak’s own work has been extensively shown in galleries and juried exhibitions throughout the United States.
Experience the visual development of a painting from the initial marks to blocking in large masses to the final touches. Joe Gyurcsak will express the importance of preparation in regards to palette of color, brushes, lighting, composition and plan of how to proceed. All this as the artists conveys his thoughts and his actions in a clear verbal discussion while painting.
Historical references will be made to painting concepts from artists such as Inness, Metcalf, Zorn, Sargent, Sorolla, Garber, Whistler, Chase, Henri, Hawthorne, etc. Joe has studied in great depth many of the masters of 19th century and has a unique ability to relate those findings to the current lesson at hand. All questions are invited.
